WHO AM I?

Giulia Rovelli

I graduated in Food Science from the University of Florence, Italy. I passed the state exam for the admission to the National Order of Biologist, thus being able to practice the profession of Nutritionist Biologist. Subsequently I obtained the Master in Nutrición y Metabolismo, with address Nutrición Clínica, at the Universidad Rovira i Virgili of Tarragona and the Universidad of Barcelona.

I focused my internships on the study of diabetes, especially type 1 in young athletes, and on the study of the complications of bariatric surgery.

My instruction does not end here, as I attended a course of Nutrition in football players and a Healthy Cooking course in Italy.

Finally, certain that proper nutrition goes hand in hand with physical exercise, I wanted to deepen this last aspect by obtaining the diploma of Fitness Instructor from the Italian Fitness Federation (FIF).

I specialize in diabetes, especially type 1 in young sportsmen, in pathologies of the digestive system and in nutrition before and after bariatric surgery.

I collaborate with an orthopedic surgeon in Italy in the nutritional education of patients and in the elaboration of pre-operative diets with the aim of weight loss in order to guarantee a better resolution of the surgery and a quick recovery.

The fact that I was trained in two countries, Italy and Spain, allowed me to confirm the key to healthy eating, which in the end is nothing more than learning about the genuine foods that our wonderful Mediterranean land gives us, respecting its seasonality and vary its consumption, along with regular exercise.

After much study, I realized that my passion is dietary counseling. Educate patients from a nutritional point of view, pass on my knowledge and help people not to consider diet as a strict regimen, but rather as the pleasure of knowing what we eat and why we eat it, thus achieving nutritional education.

Because, in the end, the definition of the term “diet”, which comes from the Greek “diaita”, means “lifestyle”.
